Scrapers are tools that are typical of the Upper Paleolithic period. They are made from large flakes or blades of flint, or other materials. They have a retouched front at one end, and could be hafted onto a wooden handle. They were used for scraping and abrading soft materials such as hides (either fresh or tanned) and harder materials such as wood, antler or bone.
