Bonnie Erickson designed and built Miss Piggy in 1974 for an early ����_�Muppets����_�_ television special, produced by Jim Henson. For more than 40 years, Miss Piggy has captivated the world with her appearances on ����_�Good Morning America,����_�_ ����_�Saturday Night Live,����_�_ and ����_�The Tonight Show,����_�_ and her performances in 8 Muppet movies, among others. Fans continue to enjoy her witty comments, quick-temper, and glamorous fashions. In 2015, the Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art gave Miss Piggy the Sackler Center First Award, which is presented to women who have broken barriers and charted changes in all disciplines and areas. The Muppets Studio penned a response in ����_�Time,����_�_ in which Miss Piggy noted, ����_�I believe that any woman who refuses to accept society����_��s preconceived notions of who or what they can be is a feminist.����_�_
