Rattle

For play at its most elemental, nothing works so well as an infant's rattle. Combining movement, sound, and texture, the rattle also often offers a pleasing figure or character for a child to look at. This rattle, made of hard rubber dates from the mid-20th century. Rattles remain popular infant toys to this day.
