Hamburg, Germany

Antler and bone have been valued and sought-after raw materials since the Stone Age due to their peculiar compressive, bending and breaking properties; they are very resilient due to their elasticity and tensile strength. The oldest evidence of antler tools in the Hamburg region is this Palaeolithic harpoon head from Hamburg-Meiendorf.
