Reaching for Utopia - Tangen

TANGEN When a new residential area being built in Tangen in Southern Norway, a design manual was developed to ensure that Inclusive Design was incorporated in nature as part of the outdoor area, without adding costs or creating expensive special solutions. The Inclusive Design focus enabled innovation across the board from the outdoor areas through to the apartments. Good wayfinding and functional solutions are integrated into the design with a focus on recreational space as well as removal of physical obstacles and barriers. The design offers outdoor furnishing and play zones that speak to everyone. Tangen has become an attractive area for a wide diversity of people.
