Ready for Launch

As the Sun sets, a sounding rocket is lifted into launch position at the Arnhem Space Center in Australia.

In 2022, NASA launched three sounding rockets from this new commercial range in northern Australia. The rockets, which carried scientific instruments briefly into space, took measurements that couldn’t be made from the Northern Hemisphere.
