Rear View

This painting is a part of a series called Rear View. In the series, Krishen Khanna depicted the condition of rural migrant labourers whom he encountered in Delhi. The figures in these paintings are usually drawn in grim greys and browns that show the dust covering them at the end of a hard day. He typically depicts their anonymity by setting them in the backs of trucks or huddled together, looking away from the viewer.
