Reception room of of Muhammed Karim Agha Asaadi’s harem at Citadel of Erbil, Iraqi Kurdistan

Erbil Citadel is a fortified settlement on top of an ovoid-shaped tell in the Iraqi Kurdistan. Despite its designation as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2014, many areas of the complex are in need of restoration. The magnificent late-Ottoman reception room of Muhammed Karim Agha Asaadi’s harem is one of them.
