Record:Gordon Lightfoot: Gord's Gold

Initially Canadian-born singer-songwriter Gordon Lightfoot was best known for the hit songs he wrote that became hits for others in the folk and rock field--Judy Collins, Marty Robbins, the Kingston Trio, Richie Havens, and Peter, Paul, and Mary. However, starting with his 1965 debut LP, "Lightfoot!" he achieved success with his own songs. His first major U.S. hit was 1970's single, "If You Could Read My Mind," which was followed by numerous other hits such as "Sundown" which went to No. 1 in the U.S. and Canada in 1974. Many of Lightfoot's best-known songs are compiled on this 1975 greatest hits double LP.
