Purity is one of the women supported by Carakana Program and here she shares her story: GIVING HOPE
"My name is Purity , I am a 28-year-old single mother of one. I joined the cross-stitch project in 2017 when Carakana returned here to the prisons to see us and train more women. Since then, I’ve worked on several projects that earned me thousands of shillings, something I never thought would have been possible in prison. The monies enabled me to pay for my child’s upkeep. He stays with my father-in-law and he is very elderly so whenever I get any money, I send it all home for their care. May Carakana's boundaries be expanded for helping someone like me and giving me hope that there are people who care about inmates and help us take care of our families."
