Sun Lu was born in an artistic family and came into contact with painting under the influence of her family. During the period of 1995-2005, she studied Danpella, the oldest painting material in Europe, at École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, France. She was one of the first Chinese artists to bring Danpella's painting techniques back from Europe. The author also participated in Gulangyu's sketch activity in 2004. The red houses in this work, which are mainly colored by large-scale rendered red, with the transitional tone from dark green to green, delicately reflect the colors left by the times in life.
