A reindeer by a big lake in the mountains. Green shrubbery by the lake, but the mountain tops are covered in snow.

Mordt was a Norwegian painter best known from his romantic paintings of Norwegian landscape. He was educated in Denmark, and later in Düsseldoft where he was a student with the famous Norwegian painter Hans Gude. During his time in Düsseldorf, his teacher Gude criticized him for not taking his art seriously and for mass producing his pictures.
