The inhabitants of Lepenski Vir were among the first in Europe to form a settlement with houses whose floors were in trapezoidal shape, while upper construction was made od wooden material. All the houses built on Lepenski Vir were facing the Danube, looking to the east. In the middle of the house was a rectangular fireplace.
