This is a modern replica of the pattern-welded sword blade from the ship-burial at Sutton Hoo. It was made by Scott Lankton, based on X-rays of the original sword. Professor and Mrs Robert Engstrom presented the sword to the British Museum through the Medieval Institute of Western Michigan University, USA.
