A four-pointed medal made of gold-colored metal with white and green enamel. Has a profile relief of Balboa in the center encircled by "ORDEN DE VASCO NUNEZ DE BALBOA". On the reverse of medal is an outline map of Panama encircled by "REPUBLICA DE PANAMA". Suspended from a wide purple and yellow grosgrain ribbon. Medal conferred upon Eleanor Roosevelt by the government of Panama. FDR Library Museum Collection, MO 1955.84.1.
