Reru. Pounder. Used for pounding food or ingredients for producing dyes. Carved from a single piece of toka (stalactite). Overall shape is conical and hexagonal. Slightly convex pounding surface with clearly defined edge around the base. Reduction from base to form 7-sided cylindrical grip. Top of the reru ends in a 'knob' with notches all around its circumference. In the middle of this is a further raised knob. Polished surface all over. White in colour.
