In the past, this building was known as a Residence of Bukovinian and Dalmatian Metropolitans in Chernivtsi. Now it is the Yuri Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University. This complex is one of the seven such places in Ukraine that are registered in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. The project of the residence was designed by the Czech architect Josef Hlavka. Before you is the building of the Poltava Provincial Zemstvo, which now houses the Poltava Local Lore Museum. It consists of 3 buildings: Metropolitan, Seminary and Monastic. The concept of eclecticism best describes the architectural style of the complex - here the Gothic style is combined with Moorish and Hutsul motifs.
