In 2011, the Atlanta Preservation Center began efforts to restore and rebuild the historic back porch of the L.P. Grant Mansion. The original back porch columns, flooring and roof had been damaged and/or removed prior to the Atlanta Preservation Center purchasing the home in 2001.
The Atlanta Preservation Center rebuilt the porch per historic standards and to the details included in original drawings for the home. At the same time, the APC made sure to design restoration efforts with a goal of being inclusive for all. The 1856 home is now ADA accessible.
