The decoration of this chapel dates back to the first half of 17th century in what is known as the Mannerist style – classical, sober and balanced, influenced by the design of the main chapel. It is attributed to Master Jerónimo Correia, probably also responsible for the retables in the Chapel of St. Anthony and in the Chapel of the Holy Family, which are stylistical similar to this one. The retable, essentially a classical pediment, includes a 17th century image of the chapel's patron saint made of carved wood. It is flanked by two pairs of Corinthian columns.
