The Song of Songs of Solomon is a series from the early 1970s consisting of 12 etchings that demonstrate DalĄ's interest in religious themes and stories of the Old Testament. Return, Return, Shulamite portrays the verse "Return, return, O Shulamite; return, return, that we may look upon thee: what will yee see in the Shulamite? as it were the company of two armies" (Song of Solomon 6:13, King James Version). Here, DalĄ conveys a sense of movement through the use of aqueous and airy line work that serves to create a sense of graceful movement in the two central female figures.
