Mt. Iwozan Fumaroles

As the name Iwosan (meaning "sulfur mountain") suggests, the distinct smell of sulfur hangs in the air at Mt. Iwosan (elevation 512 meters). The mountain was once a sulphur mining site and has more than 1,500 craters, large and small, which constantly spew out white plumes.
