The head, which belonged to a bust or a statue, features an elongated oval face with asymmetrical eyes that have lowered, thick eyelids, a straight nose, and a small, slightly open mouth. Puffy locks emerge from beneath the sakkos, or cloth cap, which has a button on top and is marked by a raised edge above the forehead. The figure wears spherical earrings. The stylization of the locks of hair and the sharply lined eyelids are recurring elements in Tarentine coroplastic art.
