This Cypriot terracotta statuette depicts a bearded charioteer driving a biga (two-horse chariot). The figure wears a conical Cypriot cap or helmet. Four holes at the base suggest that there were originally four wheels, two attached on either side using the axle holes pierced under the chariot and the forelegs of the horses. While the surface of the terracotta has worn away in many places, some of the original painted decoration remains, including traces of red on yoke and bridles of the horses.
