This silver ring is a well known type and some examples have been found. The bezel is decorated with a motif in granulation and filigree, with a gold grain in the center, in combination with silver.
This decorative element presumably had a magic significance. Gold had many meaning and was a symbol for the sun, divinity, wisdom, healing and many more.
