This bottle with a large round opening in the middle is decorated with sgraffito (scratches) in the form of a green, pink and brown floral décor which is typical for ceramics from the region bordering on Hungary. Vessels such as this one had an important part to play, particularly at weddings: the groom would drink wine from it upon entering the house of the bride’s parents for the first time on the day of the wedding.
