This project intends to recover a drainage ditch, reutilizing it from an urban standpoint. This drainage is located within the city of Luanda; as a partial solution for some of the urbanistic challenges that Luanda faces nowadays, we have proposed a process of urban regeneration that goes from the infrastructure of a drainage canal and its reuse through the construction of several green spaces of collective use that run through central arteries of the city. The Rio Seco canal is 2.7 km long, it starts in Zona Verde and ends in the Kinanga neighborhood. The architectural project has divided the canal into 5 different sections, each underwent an environmental, social and economic diagnosis, allowing the development of proposes related to architectural design, landscaping, infrastructures as well as social and economic dynamization. The proposed solution is to recover the drainage ditch, intending to improve rainwater management, control the air pollution that spreads diseases, minimize the environmental impact of drainage on water quality, improve the urban landscape and promote public safety. We defend a vision that meets fundamental conditions for a sustainable urban development; we propose an intervention that seeks to recover an integrated, harmonious, clean and inclusive sense of the city.
