Tommaso Bertarelli (1837-1924), was a grand officer, chemical-pharmaceutical industrialist, banker, President of the Superior Council of the Bank of Italy, member of several Committees, including the Delegation of the Stakeholders of the Teatro alla Scala, in which he lavishes for the transformation of the famous opera house into an autonomous institution.
