Among its illustrious ancestors, the Miniscalchi-Erizzo family can boast a Doge of the Republic of Venice. Francesco Erizzo was elected doge on 10 April 1631 with a plebiscitary vote and held the ducal throne until his death on 3 January 1646. This work is a 20th century copy of the portrait made by Bernardo Strozzi, kept at the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna .
