This is a ritual calabash made by Chepkonga from gourd plant. The calabash is cut and water is poured into it to stay for one week. After which the contents inside are removed and cleaned before use. Used during children naming ceremonies. It is placed on top of a big awl or burning iron (Kolomei) which is used by the whole clan to name children and once done the names are called out. If the calabash stands balanced on the awl, the child is named. If not, the names continue to be called out until the calabash stands balanced responding to the real name of the child.
