Arthur Merric Bloomfield Boyd AC OBE was born in Murrumbeena, Victoria, Australia in 1920 and died in Melbourne, Victoria in 1999. Boyd was a painter, potter and printmaker and part of an artistic family. Boyd and his family lived in England from 1959 before returning to Australia in 1971 and eventually settling at a property called Bundanon on the Shoalhaven River in the south eastern coastal region of New South Wales. This is one of many works relating to his time at the Bundanon property which he and his wife Yvonne gifted to the Australian people in 1993.
