This waterline model of Lusitania was made by James McKee, who was employed as a carpenter on board the ship from 1908-1914. He made it using a piece of damaged teak handrail which he removed from the ship during her annual overhaul in Liverpool. It was rigged and completed for Merseyside Maritime Museum in 1980 by his son, John.
