Roberta Lynn Bondar

In December of 1983, she was selected as an astronaut during the first national intake.
From January 22 - 30, 1992, she made a space flight as a payload specialist as a member of the crew of the Discovery STS-42 space shuttle mission.
She withdrew from the group of CSA astronauts on September 4, 1992 in order to continue her scientific work.
