Robin Compton at Newby Hall Gardens

Robin Compton lived at Newby Hall between 1977 and 2009 during which time he and his wife Jane restored the gardens and opened them to the public, adapting them for visitors and adding both the miniature railway and the Adventure Gardens now enjoyed by thousands of children each year.
