A spheroidal box carved of rock crystal, consisting of two hemispheres decorated allover in a formal lattice motif with settings of lobed floral aspect. This box is inlaid with gold and set with rubies and pale emeralds. Both ends (top and bottom) are set with large ruby cabochons from which radiate spider-web like motifs, bordered by overlapping hearts followed by tangent arches and circumscribing one of the hemispheres, a band of tangent, alternating ruby and emerald cabochons. The interior of the box is in gold, with silver directly underlying the rock crystal.
