Bronze coin showing Tiberius minted near Tortosa (Tarragona) issued by the first emperors, from Augustus to Claudius. These coins were minted showing local motifs. This interesting Spanish-Roman example illustrates the seafaring lifestyle of the Roman town of Dertosa (now Tortosa). The front shows the head of Tiberius and the words "AVGV CAESAR DIVI AVG F". On the reverse side there is a sailing ship with the inscriptions "DERT" and "M H ILERCAVONIA".
