Three by four ‘roses’, each rose has 4 flowers, 12 buds and 12 leaves, surrounded by a very simple swag border. Quilting: by the piece in the center section, echo quilting in border, simple squared off fans in body. Back: bound separately with the same red fabric as used in interior. A simple example of a commonly made, traditional design. Fabrics circa 1850-1860. Quilting patterns later, but probably put together at one time.
