"Rosie the Riveter" summer jumpsuit in lightweight blue synthetic broadcloth; straight with fitted waist; full-length; high neck, square rolled collar; square shoulder, short sleeves; double-tucked at waist; natural waistline; straight trouser leg with topstitched pant crease; elasticized back waist with tuck-in drop seat, belt loops; applied red and green cotton braid at side pant seams; center front zipper closure, side zipper closures. One of the designs commissioned in 1942 by the Sperry Gyroscope Company as a woman war worker's uniform, designed as comfortable and practical clothing for working on first radar to specifications defined by the workers themselves. Shown with blue and mother of pearl 1939 New York World's Fair belt, F2016.52.1.
