Wooden dining tables for floor seating evolved so that they could be carried with food from the kitchen to a separate dining area. Lacquered versions were used at the royal court. This round table glazed with iron-added lacquer has a cylindrical foot that was made by putting together several planks. The low-edged and plate-shaped top was lacquered first, and the edge was lacquered another time afterward.
