Platters in different sizes and shapes were used to serve food but also under tureens, handwashing dishes and boxes.
The edge of the round, low platter is decorated by a brown stripe and four embossed caterpillar elements that have been painted green; between them, we can see painted flowers and the bottom sports a large flower painted on it. Faience, on-glaze painting. Signed: R/F/Ot.
Produced by Carl Christian Fick's faience factory (Revalische Vagance-Porcelain Fabrick) that operated in Tallinn from 1772 to 1782.
