Between 1772 and 1782

Tallinn City Museum

Tallinn City Museum
Tallinn, Estonia

Platters in different sizes and shapes were used to serve food but also under tureens, handwashing dishes and boxes.
The edge of the round, low platter is decorated by a brown stripe and four embossed caterpillar elements that have been painted green; between them, we can see painted flowers and the bottom sports a large flower painted on it. Faience, on-glaze painting. Signed: R/F/Ot.

Produced by Carl Christian Fick's faience factory (Revalische Vagance-Porcelain Fabrick) that operated in Tallinn from 1772 to 1782.
