Tadeusz Mazowiecki - a Catholic intellectualist and journalist, founder of the Catholic Intellectuals’ Club, editor-in-chief of the “Więź” magazine, deputy to the Sejm of the People’s Republic of Poland (member of the “Znak” deputy club), one of the founders of the Society for Educational Courses, head of the team of aides to Lech Wałęsa, editor-in-chief of the “Tygodnik Solidarność” weekly, interned during the martial law, participant of the Round Table talks. On 24 August 1989, Mazowiecki was appointed the first non-communist Prime Minister of Poland.
