The royal chambers of King Charles I of Portugal and Queen Amélie of Orléans are like time capsules that transport us to the dawn of the
20th century. Taken from the royal yacht Amélia (the fifth of its kind) when it was decommissioned in 1938, they retain their comfort and
intimacy. The display of their furniture, photographs, watercolours and personal objects recall the scientific and artistic legacy of the oceanographer King and his exquisite aesthetic sense.
