This royal vehicle that Empress Sunjeong used is a limousine manufactured by a British automobile company Daimler. It is equipped with seven seats, a 20 horsepower-engine, and 3,309 cc of engine displacement, and assumed to be a 1914 model. This automobile is smaller than the Emperor Sunjong’s car, but its shape and adornment are more refined. The interior is decorated with gold silk with embroidered plum blossoms and the body is made of wood. The exterior is coated with lacquer. Like the Emperor’s car, this automobile has practicability as the chair behind the driver’s seat can be folded to maximize space. Only three cars of this model remain in the world, and this vehicle is the oldest car existing in Korea.
