The works Rozgar by Nilima Sheikh and Rafoogari by Priya Ravish Mehra addresses the issues related to notion of craft and craftsmanship and the ongoing debates regarding what constitutes an art practice and what is merely a craft form. These debates coincide with larger issues to do with community identities, labour and skill, and categorisation and definition.
The works were featured as part of the exhibition 'Connecting Threads: Textiles in Contemporary Practice'. The exhibition was curated by Tasneem Zakaria Mehta and Puja Vaish and attempts to trace textile practices, traditions and histories in Contemporary Indian Art.
