Ruins of the stage of the National Theatre, condition after 1944.The building first burnt down after a bombardment in September 1939. During the Warsaw Uprising in August 1944 it was destroyed by fire for the second time. Only the facade walls and the reinforced concrete frame along with the colonnade were preserved.
