Boxer Rebellion: A hand-colored image shows the ruins in the French Concession during the Boxer Rebellion, featuring a dog, two men walking past, and another man near the entrance of a burned building. During the Battle of Tianjin (June–July 1900), the Boxers moved through the French quarter and attacked the railway station. Russian forces defended the station but suffered around 100 casualties.
