historical photography - On Sunday, March 31th, 1901, at the National Theatre the world premiere of Dvorak's Rusalkathere was introduced. The title role was entrusted to Růžena Maturová (1869-1938). Picture material of the world premiere kept in the National Theatre Archive is truly rich. There are pictures of all the main characters with the original decoration on the stage in their background, and at the same time the beautiful costume designs album of Karel Šimůnek is preserved in the archive, too.
