This was the third time that Ruth Slenczynska-Kerr appeared on the Jury of the National Chopin Piano Competition. She was the first American woman pianist to celebrate over 60 years of professional music making, and is also a successful author and popular adjudicator, workshop clinician and master class teacher. She was 85 at the time of her 2010 performance in Miami and continued to perform well into her 90s with regular tours of Japan being a regular fixture (CoVid put an end to plans for a 2020 visit).
