A view towards the south west from the Wirral looking towards the Clwyd Hills in North Wales. Almost concealed in the landscape is a huntsman with hounds on the right and a hare on the left, described by a critic as ‘simply an absurdity. It is grotesque in size and its attitude is almost untrue’. Davis here paints with exceptionally vivid colour but a rather hard finish.
