The SS-Ehrenring, also known as the “skull ring” or “death’s hand ring”, was an award of the Schutzstaffel (SS). The ring was a personal gift from Heinrich Himmler to senior officers and others deemed worthy of the award. It was worn on the left “ring finger” only and had to be returned should a member be dismissed or retire.
